Settings, operations & compliance
Settings, branding, email, background jobs, the audit trail, and the security & privacy facts.
Everything an administrator sets once and rarely touches again: company branding, the system language, outgoing email, where updates come from, and the read-only record of what the assistant has done and is holding — the audit log, retention, and the GDPR tools built on top of it.
None of these controls are about what the assistant can answer or who can ask it — that's Access and Users & groups. This section is the deployment's own housekeeping: how it presents itself, how it stays patched, and how it proves what it did.
Most pages here are green-and-quiet by design — Background activity, Plan & seats and Security & privacy are read-mostly, reporting facts rather than asking for decisions. The exceptions are the handful of fields under Settings → General (Branding, Language, Email (SMTP), Public address) and, on a managed deployment, when a Software updates card asks you to pick a moment.
In this section
- Settings, tab by tabThe page saves as one unit — the save bar appears once anything is edited, and every field on it commits together.
- Plan & seatsSettings → Plan & seats shows the plan this workspace runs under and where it stands. Every figure is measured from your own workspace — nothing is estimated. One thing is counted: seats. Everything…
- BrandingSet your company name under Settings → General → Branding: type it in the Company / organisation name field, with the word Assistant fixed beside it. The assistant is then shown to users as “…
- System language (and the languages the assistant speaks)Two different things speak two different kinds of language here, and only one of them is a setting.
- Email (SMTP)Configure an SMTP server under Settings → General → Email (SMTP) so invitations and password-reset links are emailed automatically. It's optional — activation and reset links are always available to…
- Software updatesOn a managed deployment the software keeps itself current. The deployment checks in with Naxis every quarter of an hour, and when a new version is announced a Software updates card appears at the…
- Background activity (jobs)Syncing, document analysis and retention don't happen while you watch — they run as background jobs: queued, executed by the server, retried if they fail. You never manage jobs. There is nothing to…
- Audit logAn append-only, tamper-evident record of every question and admin action, under Settings → Security & privacy. Each event stores a hash built from the previous event's hash together with its own…
- Security & privacySettings → Security & privacy gathers everything that makes a deployment trustworthy: the tamper-evident audit log, automatic retention, a generated processing manifest (GDPR Art. 30), erasing a…
- Support ticketsWhen something is wrong and the documentation doesn't resolve it, open a support ticket: Help → “Open a support ticket” (the red button under the topics list). Tickets go to the people who run the…
- This help centre (and its AI)Everything in this window is about how Naxis Assistant itself works — it never searches your company documents (that's what the chat is for). Open it from Help at the bottom of the sidebar, in the…
Where these settings live
Every control on this page's articles sits under Settings, reached from the console sidebar — General, Plan & seats, Security & privacy and Background activity, in that order. Nothing described here lives in a source, a channel or a user's own account.
