Set up SurveyMonkey
Connect SurveyMonkey to make survey responses searchable — each survey's month becomes one digest document of question/answer pairs from completed responses, so “what did people say in the NPS survey” answers from the actual responses, and the sync stays inside SurveyMonkey's small daily API allowance. Read-only.
Before you start
- The credential is a private app's access token: at developer.surveymonkey.com open My Apps, create (or open) a private app for your own account and copy its access token. Grant it the View Surveys and View Response Details scopes — nothing else is used. Private-app tokens are long-lived.
- The token only reads, and sparingly: SurveyMonkey's daily call allowance is small (a few hundred calls on the default plan), so unchanged surveys are never re-read and a large backlog is spread across several syncs.
- Create the private app and copy its access token as above.
- Documents → SurveyMonkey, paste it into Access token.
- Optionally adjust History to sync (days) under Advanced.
- Choose access groups, Test, then Sync.
What comes in
- Each survey's month becomes one report document titled with the survey's name and the month: every completed response received that month, in order, rendered as question/answer pairs under the day it was submitted. Incomplete responses are never read.
- Questions appear under their own headings and choice, row and column answers under their labels, resolved from the survey's design; free text follows as written.
- A month with more than 300 responses shows the first 300 and states how many more it holds. A survey with no responses adds nothing.

Access
Access is allow-only: the groups chosen on the source cover every survey's digests — SurveyMonkey exposes no per-item viewers to mirror here.
The 200 most recently changed surveys are in scope, and inside the window at most 3,000 responses per survey; each cap is noted in the sync summary when hit. A sync spends at most 60 page reads (100 responses each) on surveys whose modified date or response count moved; unchanged surveys are re-emitted with no calls at all, and a survey the budget cannot finish waits whole for the next sync — a month syncs complete or not at all, and the summary counts the surveys left for later. Months already synced stay searchable throughout, even as responses age out of the window. A survey the token can't see is skipped with a notice. Test reports how many surveys are visible; a wrong or revoked token reports that SurveyMonkey rejected the credentials, and if SurveyMonkey throttles a sync anyway it gives up after several retries and the next sync catches up.
