Set up Stack Overflow for Teams

Connect your private Stack Overflow for Teams site to make internal Q&A searchable — each question becomes a document with its body and every answer, the accepted one marked, tied to its tags, so a question your team already answered never gets answered twice. Read-only.

Before you start

  1. Documents → Stack Overflow for Teams, enter the Team slug — just the team part of stackoverflowteams.com/c/your-company/….
  2. Paste the Personal access token.
  3. Choose access groups, Test, then Sync.

What comes in

Team slugOpen your team in the browser: the address reads stackoverflowteams.com/c/your-company/… — enter just the team part.

Access

Stack Overflow for Teams exposes no per-question viewers to mirror, so the access groups chosen on the source cover every question it brings in — access is allow-only.

Test reports the questions it can see; a wrong token reads “Stack Overflow for Teams rejected the credentials”, a missing slug or token names what to set. Each sync reads the 2,000 most recently active questions with their answers, and honours the site's own pacing requests, so a large first sync takes as long as the site allows. A question that goes quiet past that cap simply stops being re-read: it stays searchable and is never treated as deleted. An answer listing that runs unusually long keeps its highest-voted answers and the sync says the rest wait for a later pass. Revoke the token on the site and the next Test reports it rejected.
