Set up Granola
Connect Granola to make your meeting notes searchable — each note becomes a minutes document with Granola's polished summary and the full transcript, tied to its date and attendees, so what was said in a meeting is as searchable as any file. Read-only.
Before you start
- An API key: in Granola open Settings → API keys (Business/Enterprise plans) and create one — it starts with grn_ and doesn't expire. Read-only in use.
- A personal key reads whatever its owner can see; a workspace key (admins only) reads the workspace's public notes plus any spaces granted API access.
- Create the key as above.
- Documents → Granola, paste it as API key.
- Optional, under Advanced: Only this folder to sync a single Granola folder, and History to sync (days) — 365 days if left blank.
- Choose access groups, Test, then Sync.
What comes in
- One minutes document per note: a header with the date the note was created, a link to it in Granola, the organiser (from the calendar event, or the note's owner) and the attendees Granola recorded, then the polished summary, then the full transcript.
- The transcript reads as a conversation: consecutive fragments from the same speaker merge into one turn, named by the speaker or by Granola's own speaker label when it has no name.
- A note created in the last 15 minutes is held back while Granola is still processing it and arrives on a later sync — Sync notes how many are waiting. Edits come in on the next sync — Sync notes it when some notes carry no update stamp, as their edits may be missed.

Access
Each note is visible automatically to the attendees Granola recorded for it, matched by email address — an address that belongs to no account here grants nothing. The access groups you choose only cover a note with no attendee email on record, or one whose details Granola won't serve yet. Switch How access works to “One list for everything” under Permissions to put every note from this source under the chosen groups instead.
Up to 2,000 notes inside the window are read per sync; Sync notes it if the cap is hit — narrow the window if this persists. Minutes already synced stay searchable even when a note later leaves the window or is deleted in Granola; remove a document under Documents if one really must go. Test reports how many notes the key can reach; on failure it says why — a rejected key reports that Granola rejected the credentials. The key doesn't expire: to cut access, revoke it where it was created, under Settings → API keys.
