Set up Asana

Connect Asana to make your tasks searchable — each becomes a document with its notes and comment thread, tied to its project, assignee and section. Subtasks are not read, only tasks listed directly in a project. Read-only.

Before you start

• The credential is a personal access token, created in Asana under your photo → Settings → Apps → Developer apps → Create new token — copy it immediately, Asana shows it once.
• The token reads as the person who created it: it can only see the workspace and projects that account can see, and it never writes back to Asana.

1. Documents → Asana, paste the token.
2. Optionally set a Workspace ID (only matters if the account belongs to several Asana workspaces — blank uses the first one the token can see) and list project ids or URLs under "Only these projects" to narrow the sync (blank syncs every project in the workspace).
3. Choose access groups, Test, then Sync.

What comes in

• Each task becomes a document: its notes, state, due date, tags, custom fields and its full comment thread, tied to the project, section and assignee it sits under.
• Each project also becomes a concept card of its own.

Access

Private Asana projects mirror their own membership — only the people Asana lists as members see that project's tasks here, re-checked on every sync. Public-to-workspace projects, or a project whose membership can't be read, keep the access groups chosen on the source instead. An administrator can also turn mirroring off and use one fixed list of access groups for every project, from the source's Permissions tab. Access stays allow-only either way.
