Set up Close (CRM)

Connect Close to make your sales pipeline searchable — leads with their contacts and the opportunities on them become linked records with exact value rollups, and the notes, calls and emails logged against each come in as dated activity, so “where does this deal stand” and “what did we last say to this lead” answer from the CRM itself. Read-only.

Before you start

  1. Documents → Close, paste the key into API key.
  2. Under Advanced, Include activity decides whether logged activity becomes searchable: Notes, calls and emails (the default) brings the deal history into answers; Records only keeps just leads, contacts and opportunities.
  3. Choose access groups, Test, then Sync.

What comes in

Access

Access is allow-only: the groups chosen on the source cover everything Close brings in — Close exposes no per-record viewers to mirror here, and the key's own user decides what the source can see at all.

Leads and opportunities are capped at 5,000 each, most recently updated first; activity at the 2,000 most recent notes, 2,000 calls and 2,000 emails. The activity feeds are read newest-first, so an item that ages beyond its cap leaves the listing without being treated as deleted — activity already synced stays searchable. Every hit cap is noted in the sync summary. Test confirms the connection read-only and names the user the key belongs to; a wrong or revoked key reports that Close rejected the credentials — revoke the key on Close's side and the next Test says exactly that.
