Set up Confluence

Connect Confluence to make the company wiki searchable — every page, and optionally blog posts, becomes a document, so “how do we onboard a customer” answers from the page your team already wrote. Cloud and Server/Data Center both work. Read-only.

Before you start

  1. Documents → Confluence, enter Site — your Cloud address (your-domain.atlassian.net) or your Server/DC base URL.
  2. Cloud: fill Account email (Cloud) with the token owner's email. Server/DC: leave it blank.
  3. Paste the token into API token.
  4. Optionally list space keys under Spaces, one per line — the ENG in your-domain.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ENG/… — to sync only those; blank syncs every space the account can see.
  5. Set Include to Pages only or Pages and blog posts.
  6. Choose access groups, Test, then Sync.

What comes in

SpacesOptional space keys, one per line. Blank syncs every space the account can see, including personal spaces.
IncludePages only (default), or Pages and blog posts.

Access

Confluence's own page-level view restrictions are mirrored automatically: a restricted page follows the individual people it's restricted to. A page restricted to a group rather than named people, or with no restrictions at all, falls back to the access groups chosen on the source. Allow-only throughout. Switch How access works to “One list for everything” under Permissions to put everything this source brings in under the chosen access groups instead.

Only pages whose version number moved are re-read on later syncs, so a big old wiki syncs fast after the first pass. Test fails if the site address or token is wrong, or if the account can't reach any spaces at all.
