Set up Deel
Connect Deel to make the global-workforce picture searchable — each contract becomes a document (type, status, worker, client entity, team, term, scope of work) and the people directory becomes situated records, so "who is our contractor in Brazil and until when" answers from the system of record. Read-only.
Before you start
- The credential is an organization access token, created in Deel under your avatar → Developer (or Settings → Developer) → Access tokens → Generate new token. Grant only the read scopes for contracts and people — nothing else is used — and copy the token right away; Deel shows it once.
- The token can only read. Only GET calls are ever issued.
- Deel → Developer → Access tokens → generate an organization token with read scopes for contracts and people.
- Documents → Deel, paste the token.
- Choose access groups carefully — this is HR data — Test, then Sync.
What comes in
- Each contract becomes a document: type, status, worker, client entity, team, start and end date, job title, and the scope-of-work text in full.
- The people directory becomes situated records: name, work email, country and job title.
- Compensation is deliberately left out. The structured pay fields are never read, and a rate-like figure typed into free text — a scope of work reading "$85/hr" or "EUR 4,000 per month" — is replaced with "[rate withheld]" wherever it appears, including the title.
Access
Deel exposes no per-item sharing to mirror, so the access groups chosen on this source are what decides visibility here, allow-only. Given the sensitivity of contracts and people data, keep that group tight.
People records carry a work email only — personal addresses never sync. Contracts are capped at 2,000 and the people directory at 5,000; anything beyond the cap stays off the sync rather than reading as deleted. A pay-rate-like figure being withheld from a contract is recorded once per sync, not per contract, so an admin can confirm the scrub is active without a flood of notices.
