Using Naxis Assistant

Type a question in plain language and Naxis Assistant answers from your organisation's own documents, showing the sources behind every answer. Ask follow-ups in the same conversation — it remembers the thread. It answers in the language you write in, whatever language the documents are in; a message with no language of its own, such as a bare term, is answered in your organisation's system language.

Ask well

The clearer the question, the sharper the answer. Exact names, reference numbers and amounts search better than a general description — a specific account name and date beats “that contract from a while back”. Keep one topic per conversation: mixing several unrelated questions into one thread makes it harder for Naxis Assistant to keep the passages straight, and harder for you to find the answer again later.

What you get back

While Naxis Assistant works you see “Reading and answering…” with a count of the sources it is checking. The answer opens with its short form: Read more unfolds the full answer beneath it, Show less folds it back. Every number in the text, and every row under Sources, opens the exact passage it came from. When nothing on record answers the question you get a plain refusal and a Not in the knowledge base mark instead of a guess.

When you get a results page instead

A message that only names something — a title, a code, a few keywords with no question in them — is treated as a lookup. Instead of an answer you get Top matches: the first three documents with a highlighted snippet each, and the size of the whole pool; click the panel to open the full search screen. If you wanted an answer all along, the Search tag beside the assistant's name turns into Ask instead? — click it and the answer is composed in the same turn.

Your conversations

Past conversations sit in the list on the left, each titled after the first question you asked in it; the list keeps your 200 most recent. Click one to reopen it and keep asking follow-ups. Remove one with the × beside it — you are asked to confirm, and the deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. New conversation at the top clears the thread whenever a topic changes; it's worth using more often than feels natural, since a thread that has wandered across several subjects tends to answer all of them worse. A conversation you started from a messaging app appears here too, wearing that app's mark.
